February was a meaningful and productive month for our district. I introduced legislation to expand access to more affordable gas options, keep our roads safe from repeat DUI offenders, and continue expanding services for families who need them most. I also had the pleasure of welcoming local high school students to the Capitol and discussing the legislation that matters most to our youth.

Legislative Update
Our state government should focus on the issues that directly impact the people we represent. I'm proud to share additional legislation that will make our roads safer, expand support for families in need, and increase access to more affordable gasoline options.
- AB 2046 Access to Affordable Gas - Allows most drivers to legally convert their existing vehicles with federally approved kits so they can use cheaper E85 fuel already available at gas stations across California.
- AB 1605 No Alcohol Sale - Prevents repeat drunk driving by allowing judges to place a "No Alcohol Sale" notice on the IDs of serious DUI offenders, stopping alcohol purchases before another tragedy happens.
- AB 1832 Expanding 211 - Expands the 211 hotline so families can quickly connect to food, housing, disaster relief, and other lifesaving services when they need help most.
Empowering the Next Generation of Leaders
Lincoln High School AP Government Class 
I had the honor of welcoming Lincoln High School's AP Government students to the State Assembly. These dedicated students are preparing for college and leadership roles across the country. These young leaders represent the bright future of our state and nation.
St. Mary's High School Football Team 
It was an honor to recognize the St. Mary's High School Rams Football Team as the 2025 CIF State Division II AA Champions on the Assembly Floor. Their teamwork, discipline, and leadership on and off the field represent the very best of our community. Go Rams!
Celebrating Black History Month
This February, we celebrated 100 years of honoring Black history, culture, and achievement. As a member of the California Legislative Black Caucus, I was proud to take part in recognizing leaders who make a real difference in our communities.
This year, I had the privilege of honoring Mountain House Councilmember Bernice King Tingle as Assembly District 13's Unsung Hero. Recognizing her on the Assembly Floor was a special moment and one that truly reflects the strength and heart of our district.
I was proud to recognize M&J Bistro as Black Business of the Year for Assembly District 13 at the California Legislative Black Caucus Black Business celebration in Sacramento. M&J Bistro is more than just a restaurant. It is a gathering place for our community, and it was truly special to honor Jason and Mary for everything they pour back into Tracy.

South Side Community Organization Board Installation
I attended the South Side Community Organization's Board Installation to recognize the outgoing and incoming board members and thank them for their hard work and continued service to our community.
Phoenix Project Reentry Conference
I was glad to join the Phoenix Project's 1st Annual Reentry Conference, where organizations came together to create stronger pathways for reentry in our community, and I look forward to next year's conference.
Celebrating the Opening of Marbella Senior Center in Tracy
It was great to celebrate Marbella's grand opening in Tracy and this important milestone for their team and their continued investment in our community.
