Dear Neighbor,
Spring is here, and I've been hard at work in Sacramento advocating for more resources and funding for San Joaquin County. My legislation continues to move through the legislative process as I work to protect the Delta, address rising utility costs, and tackle the gas affordability crisis.
Over the past month, I've heard from hundreds of community members about the issues that matter most to you. Please continue to share your thoughts and concerns with me so we can work together to find real solutions. Your information will always remain confidential.
Warm regards,

Rhodesia Ransom
Assemblymember, District 13

Legislative Update
In March, I finalized my legislative package, and it's already moving forward with bipartisan support. My focus continues to be on lowering everyday costs for families and supporting our students and young adults so they have the opportunities they need to succeed.

Lowering Utility Rates with AB 2338
Utility bills continue to go up and PG&E has plans to request more rate increases in the coming years. My bill puts guardrails in place to make sure costs stay reasonable and justified.
- Puts limits on how fast rates can rise
- Requires stronger justification before increases move forward
- Prioritizes affordability for working families
Lower cost Gas Options with AB 2046
Rising gas prices continue to have a devastating impact on our budgets. My bill helps lower what you pay at the pump by allowing drivers to use more affordable E85 fuel in California.
- Helps lower fuel costs for drivers
- Allows drivers to install E85 conversion kits in their vehicles
- Expands affordable fuel options for daily commuters
Helping System-Involved Youth Get Back on Track with AB 1659
Too many system-involved youth fall behind when transitioning back into school. This bill helps them successfully return to the classroom, graduate, and become active contributors to our community.
- Helps students transition back into regular schools
- Keeps them on track to graduate
- Connects them with the support they need to succeed
Closing the Achievement Gap with AB 2514
Every student deserves the opportunity to succeed, no matter their background. This bill helps track progress across the state to make sure we are delivering real results for all students.
- Tracks student success across all communities
- Identifies gaps based on race, language, and background
- Holds the system accountable for results
'A Study, not a Tax' Webinar Recap
You may have seen headlines about a new California mileage "tax" bill and different claims about what it could mean for drivers. AB 1421 is a study, not a tax, and I want to make sure you have clear and accurate information about what's actually being proposed.
I hosted a "Get the Facts" virtual conversation with Assemblymember Lori D. Wilson, Chair of the Assembly Transportation Committee and author of AB 1421.These conversations are one of the ways I'm working to make sure you can hear directly about policies that impact your cost of living and daily life.
