Sacramento, CA - More than $50 million in state funding is coming to San Joaquin County to expand mental health and youth support services through projects supported by Assemblymember Rhodesia Ransom.
Through California’s Behavioral Health Continuum Infrastructure Program (BHCIP), funded by Proposition 1, two recent San Joaquin County projects received major investments to strengthen local behavioral health services and support youth in the region.
The Hollywood Cares Foundation was awarded $12,440,337 to develop the “I Am Ready Stockton Youth Center,” a project focused on supporting young people with services and resources that promote stability and opportunity.
Additionally, Phase 2 of the BeWell Campus in San Joaquin County received $38,230,841 to expand the region’s behavioral health infrastructure, including a 52-bed social rehabilitation facility that will serve residents across the Northern San Joaquin Valley.

The funding is part of Proposition 1, the statewide behavioral health bond approved by Californians in 2024 to expand treatment capacity, build new facilities, and improve access to mental health and substance use disorder care across California.
