Before the new legislative session begins, you’re invited to participate in “There Oughta Be A Law”. You have the opportunity to propose new state legislation that could benefit Assembly District 13 and all 38.9 million Californians. Meaningful change often starts at the community level, and your ideas can help shape a more just, equitable, and forward-thinking California.
Proposals
Proposals can include ideas for local community improvements, statewide reforms, revisions to existing laws, entirely new policies, budget requests, and funding proposals, among other ideas. To apply, simply fill out the form below and submit your proposals. This opportunity to propose legislation is open to all residents of District 13.
If selected, visit us in the Capitol!
If your legislative idea is selected, you will be invited to Sacramento for a tour of the State Capitol and you may even have the chance to testify on behalf of your bill at a formal hearing as it moves through the process of potentially becoming law in California.
